Stellar Asset Management
Matthew has worked in the financial services industry since he graduated from Kingston University Business School in 1997.
He trained as a financial adviser with a large US based firm and completed his financial planning certificate (FPC) to level III.
At the start of 2000, he was recruited to help establish the property division of Close Brothers Investment Limited (a division of Close Brothers PLC) and here raised capital from private investors (through their financial advisers) for a variety of actively managed property investment funds.
Over time he was promoted to Senior Business Development Manager, which included the promotion and distribution of its range of tax efficient products, including EIS, VCT and Inheritance Tax services.
In 2008 he spent six months on a sabbatical in Nepal as a volunteer teacher. Based in an orphanage and teaching English in a local school (in Pokhara) this involved gaining both a TEFAL qualification and learning rudimentary Nepalese.
On his return to the UK, he worked on temporary contract for two boutique asset management firms before joining his ex-colleagues at Stellar Asset Management in 2012.
Now, a director and shareholder he has been instrumental in developing its multi-asset approach to estate planning and widening its service proposition. In recent years he has been the driving force behind its trusted partner initiative, which advocates a holistic and collaborative approach to inter-generational estate planning.
